Second Semester Pitches Reminder
Greetings Grand Adventurers,
Just a wee reminder that the pitches for this semester will be on Sunday the 20th at 13:00 and 18:00, and on Wednesday the 23rd at 18:00, all in the Potterrow Dome.
Hope to see you there!

Potterrow Works
Greetings Grand Adventurers,
We have been made aware that Potterrow Dome is currently undergoing some construction. We have been assured that the majority of the area will still be use able by Sunday, but may be less accessible than normal. If this is an issue for you, please get in contact with us before Sunday so we can arrange something. Depending on turnout, we may also have to bleed a couple of games into Teviot,, but we’ll deal with that on the day.
Hope this quells any fears

GEAS – Student National Roleplaying Competition
Greetings Grand Adventurers,
Sorry for taking so long, I kept saying that I’ll do this announcement once we also start pitches, but then it would be a bit too late. Student Nationals are coming up soon, so I’m here to tell you a bit about them and how you can sign up.
For those who don’t know, Student Nationals is a "roleplaying competition" that attracts people from all across the UK. Nobody knows what "competitive roleplaying" is supposed to mean, but what really matters is that it’s a good time to put together a group and go somewhere for a whole weekend and do some roleplaying. There is a list of categories that games will be run in, from which each individual must give 3 that they are interested in roleplaying for, in order of preference. People usually get assigned one of their 3 choices, unless all of said categories have proven extremely popular and the algorithm doing the sorting drew you the short stick, but I wouldn’t worry about that. At the event you will have two separate games, one on each day of the weekend. There are also plenty of other attractions such as board games, a trade hall and sometimes panels and other events (treasure hunts, etc.).
Given that this year it’s happening in Glasgow, we don’t really need to set up accommodation as we can just commute there easily enough, but, if enough interest in this is expressed, I would be more than happy to help facilitate accommodation for those interested in staying the night. I will organise transport at a later date though, as it’s less time constrained. My idea was that we would go there and return as a group, via train, but the specifics of this can be further discussed with the people that sign up.
For those that want to sign up, the important details are as follows. The event will be taking place on the 12th-14th of April in Glasgow. There is a sign-up fee of 25£ (does not include transport, which I will keep you posted on). You will need to send me the three categories you are interested in (preferably numbered from 1 to 3 in descending order of priority), here, at geas.committee. You can find the list of categories and a brief description for them in this brochure on page 5. More information can be found on this site as well. The deadline for submission is the end of this month, so those who want to go should express interest and (preferably) pay the fee by the 28th, just to be sure we don’t miss it.
I’ll be sending a reminder sometime later, and more details whenever they become available. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Hope I’ll be hearing from you soon.
Kind Regards,
Tudor Ferariu
Events Coordinator 2018-19
Semester 2 Pitches
Greetings Grand Adventurers,
We apologise for the delay, but here is information regarding our first set of semester 2 pitches! Pitches will be held on Sunday the 20th at 13:00 and 18:00, and Wednesday the 23rd at 18:00 in the Potterrow Dome. This goes for ongoing games as well as new games, as players must be given the opportunity to switch games if they wish.
Please also find attached a pdf of our room bookings for this semester. There are a few days we do not have rooms which we are still trying to rectify, but failing that, colonisation of Teviot is still an option, provided we leave the place tidy behind us.
Hope to see you all there!

Conpulsion
Hello People of Geas,
We are here to talk about the greatest event known to gaming. Conpulsion!
Haven’t heard of us? We are Scotland’s oldest Gaming convention proudly supported by GEAS.
Every year we book out the entirety of Teviot and some other spaces as well which we use to host a weekend of RPGs, Boardgames, Wargames, panels and demos. We have a trade hall selling everything nerdy under the sun and events like our fire sale, auction and pub quiz.
And best of all we do it all for charity! We partner with groups like the Grass market project to support local charity efforts.
So, what’s this email for? Well we need volunteers, the Conpulsion Committee is being assembled and we need you to be a part of it. We need people to fill the following roles:
• Blue Shirt Co-ordinator • Charity Liaison • RPG and LARP Co-ordinator • War Games and Board Games Co-ordinator • Ticket Co-ordinator • Publicity Co-ordinator • Guests, Traders and Demoers Liaison • Minor Events Co-ordinator • Interior Design Co-ordinator • Welfare Officer If you have any interest in helping out, or have any questions, then please email: conpulsion
Thanks in advance, we look forward to working with you.

GEAS Social Tomorrow!
Greetings Grand Adventurers
Our inaugural social of the year is tomorrow.
7pm. Balcony room (upstairs) in the Teviot.
Campaigns will start in the following week.
Wednesday 6-10pm, Sunday 1-5 and 6-10.
The first week: Wednesday the 19th and Sunday the 23rd will be in the Amphion in the Teviot.
After that we unfortunately don’t have bookings until the 6 weeks later game re-pitches, so we’ll just have to colonise the bars.
Looking forward to seeing you all, tomorrow (Friday) and next Wednesday and Sunday.
For the Greater Glory of GEAS.
Alan Jackson
Eternal Webmaster.
Don’t forget the BBQ!
Greetings Grand Adventurers!
The weather forecast for tomorrow is holding strong so this is your reminder that the barbecue is tomorrow!
We’ll be meeting at noon in about the same place as last year on the Meadows, which I believe is somewhere along the Boys Brigade Walk. Please bring food/drink, especially if you want something specific, since we’ll be providing some basics but not everything.
Hope to see you then!
