Brindlewood Bay

System: Powered by the Apocalypse
GM: Jamie Wheeler
Description: You are the Murder Mavens, a group of elderly women who have found companionship in a murder mystery book club. You frequently find yourselves solving the (appallingly large number of) real-life murder cases in your quaint little seaside town of Brindlewood Bay. Behind all the murders and behind the meaninglessness of all human endeavour you gradually start to glimpse the machinations of eldritch horrors.

Golden Girls / Murder She Wrote / Call of Cthulhu

Day: Wednesday, but flexible for Monday to Friday.
Time: Evenings, 6pm-10pm BST. Can be flexible.
Format: Video preferred but not required, possible use of roll20 if I find the need.
Spaces: 5
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Going mad, dying horribly, nihilism, cloying pleasantness, horror, geriatric romance and dating, ageing, companionship, investigation, mysteries, murders

Call of Cathulhu: The Black Cat Wakes

System: Call of Cthulhu
GM: Craig Barnes
Description: Darkness has threatened to envelop the earth for centuries. Only with the sacrifice of the worlds bravest men and women has humanity managed to hold on in the face of the insurmountable evil that lurk in the shadows. Human kind stands alone against the void. Or so we believe. Throughout history one stalwart ally has followed close at our side, providing a support when we need it the most.

Cats.

Throughout history our feline friends have had our back and fought side by side with us in the shadows. And now a new threat is emerging. And this time its up to them to protect the world on their own.

In this game you will play a group of cats in the lovecraftian world of call of Cthulhu. Danger lurks around every corner and you’ll have to rely on your wits, guile and luck to make it through the dangers ahead. Will 9 lives be enough? Will you land on your feet? Or will it be Cat-astrophic? Only time will tell.

Day: Saturday
Time: Evenings, 6pm-10pm BST.
Format: Discord and Roll20
Spaces: 6
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Light horror, danger and harm towards various animals

The Dracula Dossier

System: Night’s Black Agents
GM: Angus Balkham
Description: You were a soldier in the war on terror. Then you got out, or shut out, or burned out. You made your way in Europe’s clandestine networks, doing ops and not asking questions. You should have. You were working for vampires.
See, Dracula isn’t a novel. It’s a censored after action report of an 1890s’ cleanup operation. And it failed: Dracula isn’t dead – he’s spent the last century working his way into power.
In the Dracula Dossier, you’ll use an annotated copy of Dracula to find out what happened in – and since – 1893, and follow its leads to work out just who – if anyone – you can trust.

Day: Flexible
Time: Flexible, likely evenings.
Format: Discord (voice/video), Roll20 (character sheets/rolling)
Spaces: 5
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Horror: Gothic, Physical; depictions of mental illness; conspiracies and questions of government action; possible player vs player

The Drowning City

System: Call of Cthulhu 7e
GM: Matt Kirby
Description: Have you ever been reading about a socialist uprising and thought, I wish I could experience that? Have you ever wished your city was spookier, or at least Dutch? Well I can’t help with that but I do have a campaign you might like.

In 1918 in the Dutch city of Utrecht, history was struggling to take control of events. Neighbours looked at eachother with distrust, doors where bolted, guns polished, the whole city was preparing for something, something that shouldn’t happen.

But far away from it all, in a municipal jail in the south of the city, the guards had other things to worry about. 5 prisoners were to be released at 10:00 that morning, which wouldn’t have been concerning if it weren’t that one of their fellows had been found dead in his cell an hour before.

In theory the genre is horror/mystery but in practice who knows.

Day: Saturday
Time: Evening, 6pm BST.
Format: Roll20 and voice-only
Spaces: 4
Age Rating: 18
Content Advisories: Spookums, severity negotiable, level of gore also negotiable, red flags, potential references to Belgium.

Drunk Space Pirate

System: Drunk Space Pirate (Homebrew)
GM: Morgan Kane
Description: Drunk Space Pirate is a collaborative storytelling game where everyone is the GM. In it, you have only three stats: Drunk, Space, and Pirate. In it, there is only one immutable rule: No happy endings. You are a merry (and very intoxicated) band of outcasts, rogues, hedonists, and swashbucklers, with a knack for escaping even the most dire of situations. It is after one such situation that we begin every session, as you, the only survivors, recount the tale to anyone who’ll listen over a pint or twelve, embellishing and omitting details as you see fit. Expect a lot of “Pirates of the Caribbean – but in space!”-style action comedy, a heaping helping of hilarious sociopathy and backstabbing bastardry, and a generous sprinkling of incredibly cheap “oh, you like this character I made up? What if I kill them in front of you?” to taste.

Day: Flexible
Time: Flexible, likely evenings.
Format: Video optional, but encouraged. Google sheets for character/ship info.
Spaces: As many crewmates as we can gather.
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Strong Language, Excessive Alcohol Abuse, Imitable Behaviour, Comic Violence, Incredibly Serious Violence, Incredibly Gruesome Violence That May Or May Not Still Be Really Funny Depending On Your Sense Of Humour, and Moderate-to-Severe Peril

Duskhollow

System: D&D 5e
GM: Holly Rankin
Description: The ancient city of Duskhollow has been immortalised in legend, once renowned for its technological prowess. Its location has been lost to time, sought by countless explorers and treasure hunters for innumerable years. Recently rumours have began circulating that the city has been discovered. Everyone supposedly involved refuses to confirm this, but the head of the council of knowledge has posted an advert requesting a party of adventurers. Could they have truly found the city?

This will be using higher level characters (starting at level 11) so may not be ideal if you are new to the game.

Day: Wednesday
Time: Evening, Approximately 6pm-10pm BST.
Format: Discord, perhaps Roll20
Spaces: 5
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Slight horror with zombie like creatures; potential violence

Star Trek

System: Star Trek Adventures (Modiphius)
GM: Aidan Hurst
Description: Star Trek is an optimistic space opera, set in the 24th century, where humanity has been exploring the galaxy and establishing relations with various alien species. Players will be officers on an exploratory vessel which is entering an unexplored cluster of stars (for those familiar with the setting this will be just after the dominion war). The game will involve a lot of use of diplomacy and technology (staying true to the show) to solve problems, rather than raw force or power. The system is very flexible and easy to learn and character creation uses a lifepath system.

Day: Sunday
Time: Afternoons
Format: Discord (video optional)
Spaces: 6
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Possible depiction of alien species based on phobia-inducing animals (snakes, spiders etc). Discussion of lines and veils as part of character creation session.

Strikeforce: Morituri

System: The Comics Code
GM: Roderick Easton
Description: In 2069, an alien race known as “the Horde” arrived in Earth’s solar system. Although they were technologically advanced far beyond humanity at that time, they were extremely savage. Humankind’s best hope was discovered in 2072, when Dr. Kimmo Tuolema perfected the Morituri Process. This was a two-step process that allowed people with a specific type of genetic structure to have a new metabolism overlaid on top of their original one, granting them enhanced physical attributes. The second phase of the process would allow for unique superhuman powers. However, there was one major problem inherent in the use of the Morituri Process: within one standard year, the human body would reject it. The rejection of the Morituri metabolism by the human body is 100% fatal.

Day: Sunday
Time: Afternoons, may be subject to change.
Format: Voice, possibly with Roll20
Spaces: 5
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Enslavement and torture of NPCs by villains. Combat with likely death.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Red Right Hand

System: Vampire: The Masquerade fifth edition
GM: Craig Oxbrow
Description: Vampire: The Masquerade is a storytelling game of personal horror, playing as people drawn into a society of monsters hunting in the shadows of a world that looks like our own. Knowledge of the setting and system is not required, the setting looks like our world on the surface and the system is straightforward.

Your characters are new to the night in a city where the reigning elder vampire has vanished, leaving the Damned fighting amongst themselves. The oldest cling to their power, the youngest fight for their own survival, and few care about their souls. Will your characters choose a side, find their own path, or die trying – again?

Expect personal connections to humanity complicating existence as a vampire, some violence though not much action, and a backdrop of dark alleys, nightclubs, galleries and graveyards.

Day: Sunday, Flexible
Time: Evenings from 6.30pm BST or so
Format: Video, with voice options for players
Spaces: 2-4
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Blood, violence, substance abuse

The White Hart

System: Homebrew
GM: Caitlin Flavell
Description: A game inspired by Athuriana in which players set out to save their village by finding the sleeping king under the mountain and getting his favour. Also, the apocalypse is happening. This will be a game about finding hope and friendship at the end of the world, with a very rules-lite system and a high degree of player collaboration.

Day: Sunday
Time: Evenings, 6pm-10pm BST.
Format: Zoom
Spaces: 6
Age Rating: 12
Content Advisories: All PCs will be suffering from memory issues at the beginning of the game; this will be something that players will have full control over, will not be ongoing, and can even be avoided if necessary. Happy to discuss solutions for anyone who is concerned!
