Geas Summer Games 2020

Every summer, as we close for the academic year, Geas endeavours to provide GMs a forum where they can invite players to participate in their home games over the summer. This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are having to move everything on-line. This post is a listing of the various summer games for which GMs are recruiting players.

There are a few things we would like to highlight at the start:

  1. These games are not official Geas games, but are home games run by various Geas members.
  2. As these are home games that the GMs are running, they will have the discretion to invite whomever they please.
  3. Because this is outside of term time and during a global pandemic, the Committee will not be able to support all games that are running to the same extent that we do during term-time. However, we will do our best should anyone need any help.
  4. Should you experience any issues in these games outside of Geas that you feel might affect your well-being or equal participation when in the Society, you are still able to speak to the Committee, and the Equality and Wellbeing Officer in particular, at Geas.Welfare [at] gmail [dot] com.

A small, semi-autonomous, non-human world mounts a desperate defence against the EMPIRE’s invading forces. But hope still remains, as a group of maverick pilots who were rejected by the rest of the Rebellion are determined to win the battle and end the Empire’s tyranny.
A group of four or five players will play these pilots using the NIGHT WITCHES system, fighting the species-ism in the Star Wars universe. The system is about playing the eponymous Soviet women pilots during the Second World War who faced sexism in the Red Army, which we will adapt to a player-defined Star Wars setting. No prior Star Wars knowledge required. The system and setting will contain themes of discrimination by design, and players play the intrepid heroes who face and challenge these prejudices as they take the fight to the Empire….
