Svalbard

Description: You are contractors for a secretive organisation. You investigate things and get your hands dirty. 19 hours ago a small Russian mine and research station in western Svalbard emitted a large dose of gamma radiation. 18 hours ago made its first transmission since surveillance of it began. It pleaded for you to come and stop the machine, or failing that to bomb the site from the air. Whatever is required to stop Azathoth.

Lovecraftian action adventure.

Spaces: 5
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Action, investigation, horror, violence, death

The Witch Is Dead

System: The Witch Is Dead
GM: Holly Rankin
Description: There once was a wonderful, witty, whimsical witch who lived pleasantly and peacefully in the fanciful fabled forest with her cute clever creature companions. Until one day, the witless wretched witch hunter (who deeply disapproved of any and all alliteration owing to his own obstinate opinions), well… utterly, unambiguously fucking murdered her. Apparently, she can be resoundingly resurrected if the worthless witch hunter’s eyes are brought before her body. It then became apparent that you, her cute clever creatures were also capable of being completely cutthroat. Should this scheme fail, the witch will at least have been appropriately avenged.

This is a fairly simple one page rpg so absolutely no prior knowledge of any system is required. Tone will be comedic and as light-hearted as can be when you’re a group of adorable forest creatures on a murder mission.

Format: Voice over discord with optional video
Spaces: 5
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Violence, particularly the aforementioned eye gouging; potential death of cute forest animals

Young Adventurers

System: Masks: a New Generation
GM: Vivek Santayana
Description: Your parents were once really famous adventurers. You are the next generation, teenage adventurers hoping to go on fantastic exploits to live up to the names of your forebears. So when rumours spread of a formidable crime syndicate tightening its grasp across the heart of the City of Splendours, you recognise this for what it is: an opportunity to prove what you young whippersnappers are capable of. Because what you may lack in restraint or experience, you make up for in spades with audacity and ambition. What could possible go wrong?
This game uses the Masks: a New Generation system, a game about teenage superhero comics and all the drama of growing up and making a place for yourself in the adult world, but is re-skinned to a fantasy adventure setting. It is a fairly simple, story-focussed game with relatively light mechanics. Players will play a party of teenage adventurers who navigate the expectations of their predecessors, the tangled web of intra-party drama, and the inevitable collateral damage resulting from PCs being PCs.
The tone is going to be fairly light. No prior knowledge or experience of TTRPGs required, and the game is intended to be beginner-friendly and accessible to anyone regardless of familiarity.

Format: Zoom, Discord for dice, Google Sheets for character sheets
Spaces: 5
Age Rating: PG
Content Advisories: Comic book action. Possible romance between characters

THE ZONE

System: THE ZONE
GM: Morgan Kane
Description: Nothing inside of The Boundary is known. Since the anomalies began, we’ve recieved almost no information, and the small, fragmented transmissions that have gotten out have proven… unsettling.

You are each members of the fourteenth expedition group to be sent into The Zone. As with the previous expeditions, it is unknown whether you will ever return, or if the thing that returns could even still be called ‘you’. And yet something from deep within calls to you. Tells you that, for all the risks, you have no choice but to enter.

THE ZONE is a collaborative storytelling game inspired by the Jeff Vandermeer novel/film Annihilation, and other Weird Cosmic Horror Fiction. It’s more focused on characters and atmosphere, so, don’t expect d&d-style dice rolls and number-crunching. Players ‘play to lose’, meaning your character is almost certainly going to end up dead or worse by the end – but it’ll be a fun time, I promise!

Format: Discord for voice (Video optional but encouraged), the game is played through its own website
Spaces: 4
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Specific boundaries can be set by players during setup and throughout the game itself. General content warnings apply for: Themes of hopelessness/high probability of “everybody dies” endings, body horror & mutation, moderate peril
