A Farewell to Buffalo

System: Modified “Overkill”, potential use of “Dread” where appropriate.
GM: Angus McEwing
Description: In Paleo-historic north America, your tribe has survived on the great grassy plains for generations. Now, however, the growing cold has forced the Northmen to venture deeper south and in vaster numbers. You must make difficult decisions if your people are to survive. Whatever path you take posses dangers, but can you risk staying?

This will be a game about survival and community, the tone will be dark at times as the tribe faces desperate situations and tough decisions.

System is narrative focused with minimal rules interaction focusing on character descriptors rather than numerical stats.
Format: With the consent of all players, we will meet in person to play. Alternatively, using Discord.
Spaces: 6
Age Rating: 18
Content Advisories: Extreme Violence, Terror, Desperation, Starvation, Blood and Gore.. Veils and Lines to be discussed before play.

Ghoul Island

System: D&D 5th edition + Sandy Petersens Cthulhu Mythos
GM: Jamie Wheeler
Description: Looking to escape your once splendid but now decaying hometown, you earn passage on the ship Hazels Folly. Of course things don’t go to plan and soon you are trapped on the seemingly idyllic ghoul island. Discover the islands true history and the alien forces poised to return.

Ghoul Island is a campaign for Sandy Petersens Cthulhu Mythos, which blends D&D 5th edition with the eldritch horrors of the Cthulhu Mythos. Perhaps play as one of the new mythos races. Come to terms with your cursed background. Cast dark magics. Become doomed to wander the dreamlands. Level up AND go mad and die horribly.
Format: Voice with video preferred, Roll20
Spaces: 5
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Horror, fantasy violence, insanity, (also as a published campaign it might be a little railroady, so figure out if that might frustrate you)

Masks: Generations of the Spider-Verse

System: Masks (PbtA)
GM: Vivek Santayana
Description: You’re a teenager who got bitten by a radioactive spider. It gave you incredible spider-like superpowers which, along with some cool gadgetry and impeccable snark, meant you became a sassy, loveable, charismatic and unique superhero dedicated to keeping the streets of New York safe. You used to think you were one of a kind. Until you got sucked into a wormhole into another universe where you discovered there was another hero like you. Now, you and your spider-gang have to work together and take down whatever big lies beneath the city, and find a way back to your home universe.

The game uses the Masks: a New Generation system, a game about teenagers with superpowers coping with the challenges of finding a place for themselves in the world, as kids and as superpowers. It’s a fairly simple system that focusses more on the story than on the mechanics.

The setting takes its inspiration from Into the Spider-Verse, and the players will play different interpretations of Spider-Man using the Masks archetypes.

No prior knowledge of Spider-Man necessary, and although emo phases and awkward dancing should only be attempted with extreme caution.
Format: Zoom, Google Sheets for characters, Discord for rolling dice, and possibly collaborative wikis for keeping session notes.
Spaces: 5
Age Rating: U
Content Advisories: Comig book action/voilence. Likely romance. Spiders.

Out of the Abyss!

System: Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition
GM: Gregory
Description: Out of the Abyss is a published campaign aiming to be a challenging adventure, with a focus on survival and exploration of a cool environment, aided by many interesting NPCs.

It’s set in the fantastic Underdark, the subterranean cave-system miles below the surface, full of brain sucking monsters, soul sucking monsters and flesh sucking mushroom monsters.

The players have a lot of freedom, but there is a lot to manage, (food, time, events, madness and NPC’s) so someone who can keep notes will be more than welcome.

The campaign can end at either level 7 or level 15, but we’ll figure it out at the time
Format: Voice and text only, Roll-20 or D&D beyond, depending on what people like.
Spaces: 4
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Violence, strong language, eldritch horror, madness, body horror, kidnapping.

Shadows in the Smog

System: Monster of the Week
GM: Joe Mclaughlin
Description: London 1888, The city grows fat and bloated with the spoils of empire, it’s streets home to over Six million souls. But amidst these teeming masses terrible things are said to lurk. Rumours circulate that send a shiver up the spine of even the doughtiest of Her Majesties subjects. Pale skinned aristocrats’ flit through the shadows of Kensington while Spitalfields costermongers hawk talismans to ward off a spring-heeled phantom. But some, the curious, the damned or the just plain unlucky, are compelled to reveal the dark secrets at the cities’ heart…
An episodic game of action/gothic horror in the heart of Victorian London. PCs are a disparate team of paranormal investigators in the style of the X-Files, Supernatural or Hellboy. Inspired by Victorian penny dreadfuls, gothic horror and the urban legends of London itself.
Format: Video optional. No other tools.
Spaces: 5
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Gothic horror elements. Probable references to death. Blood/gore. Masks and Veils discussion will occur during session zero to set further limits.

Starforged

System: Starforged: Ironsworn
GM: Claire Bath
Description: Ironsworn: Starforged is underpinned by Iron Vows, sworn on iron blades and forsaken only as a last resort. You will be a group of mercs and bounty hunters, pursuing contracts sworn on iron alongside your own personal vows.

I’ll be leaning heavily on the system’s random tables to guide this game after the inciting incident, as we explore the perils of the barely explored Forge. The system takes inspiration from the Mandalorian, Firefly, Alien, Dune and other gritty explorative sci-fi sources. I’m going for a roleplay and improv-driven game, absolutely no Starforged experience needed.
Format: Discord preferably with video (may switch to Zoom if there are issues)
Spaces: 4
Age Rating: 15
Content Advisories: Fantasy violence, and will use Lines and Veils. Session 0 will involve a conversation on how gritty we’re going.

A Tale of Three Cities

System: Vampire the Masquerade 5th edition
GM: Cameron Melvin
Description: A Vampire the Masquerade 5e Chronicle set in a fictionalised Kingston, Canada in 1996. Player characters begin mortal shortly before being cruelly slain and turned into vampires. Grieve your mortal life, learn what it means to be Kindred, become a pawn or a player in deadly Camarilla politics, fear discovery, master your vampire powers and wrestle with your inner Beast that drives you to your worst urges.

This Chronicle is aimed at players new to VtM with any level of roleplaying experience. Players should be prepared to play a game of personal horror where you are not the heroes – you are the monsters. This Chronicle focuses slightly more on roleplay, social and intrigue aspects than combat.

Themes include death, loss, humanity, morality, power, the occult and identity.
Format: Voice & Video
Spaces: 4
Age Rating: 18
Content Advisories: Violence, death, loss, drugs, (portrayal of) mental illness, control/abuse, blood.
