Repitches Correction

Greetings Grand Adventurers,

Due to a slight miscommunication error, please disregard the previous email regarding repitches. Repitches are in fact this week, and we have rooms for them for all sessions. Sorry for any confusion caused.

Room Bookings for February 24-7th

Greetings Grand Adventurers,

Firstly, we have the Dining Room for both Sunday sessions on the 24th of February, and the Potterrow Dome for Wednesday the 27th. This will be the last week of gaming before repitches.

Repitches will be on the 3rd and 6th of March. We are actively working on getting a room for the afternoon pitches on the 3rd, but in the evening we will be in the Dining room, and on the 6th we will be in the Potterrow Dome. Look forward to seeing you all there!

Tonight’s Room Bookings

Greetings great adventurers,

We hope that your Flexible Learning/Innovative Learning/Reading Week is going well so far! This e-mail is to inform you that we have had a slight alteration to our room bookings for tonight (Wednesday the 20th of February) from the Dome to the New Amphion. EUSA will have blocked off a section for our games to be in, and the Amphion will be open until ten, so our games should be able to run as normal.

Just as a reminder, our Repitches will be happening this Sunday and next Wednesday – we do not as of yet have bookings for some of these slots (Sunday Afternoon and Wednesdays), but we will hopefully be able to find something suitable. Updates on this to follow.

Until tonight!

For the glory of GEAS,
Judith Spaargaren
President

Conpulsion

The day has arrived! Tickets to Conpulsion 2019 are finally here! Rejoice! Buy! Rejoice some more!

But wait! It gets better! Sign up now and you’ll get your tickets at Early Bird prices: that’s a whole £5 off what was already a ludicrously cheap ticket! That means it’s only £10 for the whole weekend and a measley £5 for a single day ticket. So if you’re reading this, what are you waiting for! The Early Bird deal only lasts till March 4th, so go and buy your tickets here now: http://conpulsion.org/essentials/tickets-and-tshirts/

What’s that about T-Shirts? Why, don’t you know? The Conpulsion T-Shirt is a tradition that has gone back generations (note: ‘generations’ is not meant to imply generations of humans), they’re both collectors’ items and stylish apparel. This year the T-Shirts are emblazoned with the mighty Death Griffin, the winner of last year’s logo competition (an event so popular it’s happening again this year and you should totally sign up hint hint). If you want one of these majestic shirts (and let’s be honest here, you do), just select it after you’ve selected your ticket type. It’s only £11, so why not? That’s the price of 3 coffees. If you need a look at the size chart, look here (but order the T-Shirt when you buy the ticket, not through this link) https://www.mygildan.com/store/au/browse/productDetailsPage.jsp?productId=64000

And last but not least, have you signed up to be a GM at Conpulsion 2019? Well if you have, congratulations, we love you! Have a free T-Shirt! Just buy a ticket as normal but send your T-Shirt size to conpulsion BEFORE MARCH 4TH so that we can guarantee that we’ll have your size. And if you haven’t signed up to be a GM, why not? You’ll get a free shirt out of it, just go here: http://conpulsion.org/get-involved/game-submission/

Room bookings, Social and Repitches

Greetings Grand Adventurers,

I hope you’re all enjoying your games! I’m emailing to tell you that I have booked our February Social, on Friday the 22nd of February in the Peartree on West Nicholson Street. We’ll be starting at 6pm. Hope you can all come!

Secondly, a reminder that our room bookings this Sunday are in the Dining Room in Teviot, and the coming Wednesday we’re in the Pleasance Dome. Please do use the booked rooms if possible, as EUSA has been making notes of the numbers attending our sessions and it might affect the rooms we can book next year if numbers are low!

Lastly, Repitches are coming up once again, on Sunday the 24th and Wednesday the 27th.

GEAS GM Workshops

Greetings Grand Adventurers,

As per your suggestions from semester 1, we have finally managed to book a room where we can hold a GM workshop, yaaay! It’s quite a while from now, but our trial run will be happening on the 2nd of March in the Balcony Room, Teviot starting from 19:00. This is more of an informal event, where we’re looking to offer prospective, new and experienced GMs an opportunity to gather and have a drink, discuss various questions they might have, share tips and tricks, etc.

Since this is the first time we are organising such an event, we would like to gauge interest and would appreciate replies from any people interested, especially those who would consider themselves experienced GMs and could be interested in showing up to perhaps help the others. Provided the event itself goes well and there is continued interest, we would be more than happy to (try and) provide the space to make this a recurring, perhaps monthly event.

We hope to hear from you soon and hope that you are enjoying your games!

Tudor Ferariu
Events Coordinator 2018-19

Conpulsion Volunteering

Greetings fellow gamers!

2019 is upon us and Conpulsion Death looms upon the horizon.

A brave few among you have already volunteered to Blueshirt at this year’s Convention, and to them I am heartily grateful, but we need more volunteers to swell the ranks before I can start making up our work roster.

So if you would like to be one of our team then make haste to Conpulsion with the words “Blue Shirt” in the subject line – or collar me on a Sunday.

This Week’s Room Bookings

Greetings Grand Adventurers,

This Sunday we are in the Dining Room for both afternoon and evening games, and the Potterrow Dome for Wednesday evening.

Also, a quick word from Sakura about the promotional film mentioned at pitches:

Hello everyone,

As I mentioned in the pitches, a guy called Victor Mira has approached us proposing a promotional video for GEAS/roleplaying games.
We have been made in charge of finding people to be in the video. I don’t have a target number yet, but I think the more the merrier for now! If you would like to be involved, message me on facebook (Sakura Brandi) or answer this email.
The filming will take place during the weekends, probably in February. The vague premise is that it will showcase three different genres of games e.g. vampire the masquerade, sci-fi, classic fantasy/DnD etc… A lot of the roles will probably be background characters with little to no lines, but you will get to dress-up!
Costumes and makeup will be taken care of by Victor but I’m sure if you had things you wanted to wear/lend he would happily accept that too.

Hopefully we can premiere it at Conpulsion!

Looking forward to hearing from you guys.

Sakura
