Wednesday’s game

On Wednesday, there are two sessions, one from 1 pm – 5 pm and one from 6 pm – 10 pm. We meet in the Pleasence Bar. If you are new, ask around among the tables.

If you arrive late we might have gone to our separate rooms. In that case, ask the bar staff, they will know where we are.

A reminder

For the new people, and the forgetful regulars:

We have two sessions today 1-5 and 6-10. We’ll meet in the Underground (in Teviot) at the beginning of both. It’ll be wonderfully, colourfully, adjectively signposted.

Hope to see you later

Sam (GEAS Librarian)

Change of location

Greetings, Grand Adventurers!

The ordinary games will start on Sunday 26th but there has been a slight change in plans.

The Mezzanine has been renamed the Amphion and made unbookable since they want to open the café there. This means we will meet in the Underground bar instead. Since the new Amphion is quite new and Sundays are slow there it will probably be possible to sit up there for the games anyway but we’ll meet in the Underground first. From the second week, we should also have the Study (the Terrace for those familiar with the now outdated outlay of Teviot). Hopefully, we’ll find enough space to not be uncomfortably crowded.

The Underground bar is a bar in the Teviot, which is here. Once inside, you first go left, past one staircase to the big stairs. Then go down those and then towards the men’s room and then left. Or just ask someone once inside.

GEAS Social 2010!

Tomorrow (Thursday), 8pm, Meadow Bar Function Room.

Biscuit decorating, assassinations, werewolf and prizes. And charming conversation, of course.

It was amazingly fun last year, so I’ll see you all tomorrow and hopefully see some new faces.

Sam

Change of date.

Hello everyone,

The one off gaming sessions will be held on SATURDAY the 18th  in Teviot Mezzanine (1-5, 6-10), not Sunday.

I repeat, SATURDAY.

I’m really sorry about the change of date, hopefully we caught it in time so that most of you are still able to join us.

Sam

More lovely information

Hello, has everyone had a nice summer? Freshers week is looming on the horizon, and so I need all the help I can get.

Freshers fair: I need people to help for a few hours on each day of the Fair (Wed 15th and Thurs 16th) in either the morning or the afternoon. It’s at the Pleasance. There will be sweets and you will be in charge of them. Need I say more?

One off games: On Saturday 18th will be our one off taster session  – if you are planning on running a game please send me your details and the slot you wish to run it in, just so I can double check how many games we have.

If you want me to advertise your campaign (normal GEAS resumes Sunday 26th at Teviot Mezzanine) please send me an email with your details, a wee synopsis and how many players and I’ll pop it up on the website.

Don’t forget the GEAS social event on Thursday 16th 8pm at the Meadow Bar!

Contact geas.committee@gmail.com with any queries/replies.

For further details, please check out the ‘Fresher 2010’ link on the right hand side of our web page. There are more details about everything there.

GEAS STILL EXISTS!

Hello there,

Don’t forget that we still exist! We have new players who are looking for games (so let me know what games need players, there must be some!), we’re after provisional numbers for laserquest (to see if it’s worth looking into further), and we’d love you to use our FREE AMAZING LIBRARY.

Come to GEAS (scroll down for meeting places, Wednesdays and Sundays (1-5 and 6-10)), reply to the above lovely opportunities, bring us cake, email us with your Edinburgh roleplaying woes! We’d love to see you.

Happy gaming,

Sam (GEAS President)

Semester 2 Games

If you’d like to see your game here, drop us an email and I’ll edit this post to include yours too.

If you’d like to join any of these games, or check availability, email us and we’ll hook you up with the GM in question.

Wednesday Afternoons-

GM: Jakub. “The game is going to be a mini-campaing (about 6 sessions) with chances of continuation if players want it (and I have enough time). The campaign is inspired by and mostly follows the example of Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” series, especially first part “Gunslinger”. PC will take part in the story closesly related to the first part of the book – chase after the evil sorcerer and several adventures connected to it.
The mechanic I use is Spellslinger d20 which connects wild west and fantasy/magic settings. With a few modifications I believe it fits pretty good to the setting. I am going to make it a low magic dark fantasy with quite a bit of shoot-outs and some choices with grim consequences to be made. I can also describe the world and mechanics in more details if needed.”

(Hopefully there’ll be more games up here super soon!)

Thankyou, Sam (GEAS President)
